Abstract

This study aims to define the concept “Zajal” through the critics’ views and the ancient and modern scholars. Also it seeks to highlight some novelty aspects in the Andalusian poetry discourse through the art of Zajal. The distinction, in the Andalusian art of Zajal, is meant to use a different Levant’s typical and to follow an approach that differs from the poetic experience in the Levant. This study has been divided the topic as the following: Introduction. First: The concept of Zajal. Second: Zajal: the origin and development. Third: types of Zajal. Fourth: Application models. Conclusion.
