The control of constitutionality of laws in the Algerian constitutions

Abstract

This research aims to study the evolution of the system of control of the constitutionality of laws in the Algerian constitutions. The importance of the research is evident in the fact that the review of constitutionality of laws is one of the areas affected by the constitutional reforms included in the 2020 Constitution, which created a Constitutional Court as an alternative body to the Constitutional Council. We have tried through the different steps of this research to answer the main question of the subject, which concerns the importance of the control exercised by the Constitutional Court and the guarantees from which it benefits to exercise its role.
