Evaluation of the olive oil production sector in Algeria A comparative study with the Moroccan sector

Abstract

This study aims to assess the olive and oil oil production sector in Algeria during the period from 2009-
2018 with the inclusion of a comparison with one of the Maghreb countries, Morocco which achieved 1.8
billion dirhams in foreign exchange during the period from 2013-2017, with the provision of 60 thousand
jobs are filled annually in this sector of agricultural production, where the descriptive analytical approach
was used, and from the results of the study it was concluded that despite Algeria's possession of large areas
planted with the finest olives, in addition to the organic product of high quality, this did not contribute In
increasing and diversifying exports, the product of this substance was not provided due to the fact that the
sector is still traditionally suffering from weakness at the technical level, in addition to climate change that
cannot be controlled, on the one hand, we may find that Morocco has excelled in this sector. The study
recommended the need to work on developing this The product and the orientation to encourage exports in
order to achieve the goal of economic diversification.
