التدين الإسلامي بين التقليد ومنهج الإتباع
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Islamic teachings differentiate between forbidden imitation and following.
Muslims adhere to the Quran and Sunna according to the understanding of the
companions of the prophet and those who followed them in guidance. Following thus
should be based on careful thinking and evidence whereas blind imitation (taqlid) is not
reasonable and can serve no good purpose.Furthermore, following means that a Muslim
can be a mujtahid in his own right when he has sound evidence somewhere.
Consequently, no one has the right to follow an imam blindly for he can never be safe
from error.
