Abstract

bstract: The Holy Quran is a good example of imagery and figurative language used to better clarify its meaning, this interest in the style is to influence the receiver to act according to it. Antithesis and opposition are one aspect of Quran eloquence and rhetoric which makes it beyond any human imitation. This research aims to shed light on the most important elements in the art of schemes which is antithesis and opposition in the Glorious Quran, this makes its problematic as follows: how are antithesis and opposition rendered in English translation? Can the aesthetic dimension of antithesis and opposition be preserved in translation?. To answer the research problematic, two English translations are used to analyse some examples
