Theoretical Trends in the Sociology of Religion, Overview

Abstract

The present study has attempted to identify the most important views and contributions made by sociologists and anthropologists to enrich the field of religious Sociology and explain the first appearance of religion. But most of what has been said does not rely on a positive base or on a reading of religious facts religious analysed scientifically, besides the majority of these theories make of the primitive societies a modern material on which it is based and called these societies represent only the early stages of human societies.
