Abstract
Jesus’ crucifixion is the basis of Christianity, they usually try to prove it to non-believers by using historical sources, in order to verify their claim, we must first collect all these sources and then evaluate them by using the criteria of the historical method. The study found that there are six sources that spoke explicitly about the Jesus‘ crucifixion, they are: the historian Josephus, the Babylonian Talmud, the historian Tacitus, the philosopher Serapion, the historian Lucian, and the philosopher Celsus. After evaluating them, it resulted that the criteria of independence was not met in four of them, the inaccuracy is missing in three of them, the authenticity was not achieved in half of them, and the closeness to the incident is absent in all of them, therefore, they cannot be trusted as historical evidence for the crucifixion of Jesus.
