Toponymy of the area of Chlef at the end of the middle ages through the texts of the virtues
Main Article Content
Abstract
The adoption of the toponymic approach in the study of a part of the history of Chlef allowed me to know the diversity of its populations, what was indicated by the name of the place.
The indication of toponymy showed the relationship of the man in Chlef with the geography of his region and its ethnic origins and with saints and jurists who influenced them. As that the linguistic diversity of toponyms is shown the social mix and acceptance of expatriate culture; but the deficity in the field of research on the history of names in Algeria in general, including Chlef, which is linked to several human sciences, remains one of the problems that hinder any research in this approach.
