Manifestations of racial discrimination and the beginning of the armed conflict between Ukraine and Russia - a study in light of international human rights law
Main Article Content
Abstract
Racial discrimination refers to the disaggregation of persons by race, sex, religion, or nationality to restrict or impede the enjoyment by such persons of their rights and freedoms, which may result in serious violations of their human rights and fundamental freedoms. This study seeks to highlight the manifestations of racial discrimination that occurred during the evacuation of civilians following the outbreak of armed confrontations between Russia and Ukraine, by monitoring clear racist incidents against non-Ukrainians caused by media and State actors, which raises the question of the credibility of States' adherence to non-discrimination and equality instruments, particularly in times of armed conflict.
