The librapreneur and his role in the development of library services in Algeria Between academic formation and professional practice

Abstract

The librarian profession is constantly evolving due to several political, political and economic reasons. So that there is strong competition on information issues as well as the need for renewed creativity. This contributed to the emergence of the term   librapreneur. Thus, the non-traditional functions of the librarians are now appreciated and supported by the highest authorities in most States. Through this paper, we seek to present the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research strategy in promoting entrepreneurial thoughts among university students. Highlighting the specialization of library science and documentation. We also seek to highlight the desired effect of these efforts, focusing on the professional aspect. Thus, the achievement of the librapreneur concept is linked to his distinction whether by adopting innovative projects individually or in the performance of its professional functions in libraries. What inevitably contributes to the development of library services that make the library a leader at all national , international and local levels.
