Algerian youth uses of short video via smartphone applications and its relationship to its social and psychological effects "Field study on sample of youth smartphone users"
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to explore the motives for the use and exposure of youth to short videos through smartphone applications in light of the sweep of digital technological media in the lives of youth and unprecedented demand for smart phone devices, and fascination with what is offered on social media platforms. The results of the study found that short videos have become a language of communication in which youth share their diaries with others, overshadowed by their use in various daily activities, for cognitive educational purposes, for entertainment and material profit. This use has more negative than positive effects, based on several aspects, the first of which is psychological, emotional, behavioral and social, as nature of social interaction has changed to a purely virtual interaction, in which real relationships have been abolished with unlimited virtual relationships.
