Memory at the service of literary and pictorial discourse: El Emir Abd El Kader as a historical figure
Main Article Content
Abstract
National writing has always been based on what is called memorial writing given the intrigues that revolve around historical facts. In this article, the attribution of memory to the individual as well as to his group of belonging is problematic. From this, we inscribe ourselves in the causes and consequences of evoking this or that event at a given moment, to explain the dependence of the mnemonic phenomenon on the intentionality and spontaneity of the subject. To identify the intersection that unites the individual memory to that of the group, the representation of the character of Emir Abd El Kader is taken as an example, elucidating the image given to the character in literary and artistic discourse.
