Abstract

This article attempts to examine the change taking place in the Algerian family by questioning the respondents' opinions on the family conflict between yesterday and today and how to manage it, as the Algerian family, which was a cohesive patriarchal family governed by certain traditional values, oscillated between the tendency to traditional values on the one hand and modern values on the other, which affected the shape of the family, which turned from an extended family to nuclear or mostly married. This field study we conducted in the city of Oran concluded that family conflicts and the way they are managed between the past and the present have changed due to the great changes that have affected the Algerian family and the conflict between everything that is traditional and modern. Which led to the emergence of many conflicts and disputes in the family.
