"The LGBT community through the animation "The amazing world of gumball" directed to the Arab child" - An analytical study -

Abstract

This study aims to identify the symbols of the "LGBT community" through the cartoon "the amazing world of Gambull" shown on the Cartoon Network channel directed to the Arab child, by analyzing some episodes based on the qualitative content analysis technique. We reached several results, the most important are: The use of rainbow colors in several stations in depicting some characters of the cartoon, and in some home decorations and accessories, in addition to the cartoon’s logo. In their embodiment of homosexual characters, the cartoon makers relied on the heroine characters. Both verbal and non-verbal methods were used to convey messages, and The selected episodes included a number of clear LGBT’s messages in line with the level of awareness and understanding of the Arab child.
