Indirect Speech Acts a Pragmatic Approach in the Surah of Al-Insan

Abstract

The pragmatic approach to Arabic texts is one of the most advantageous trends in contemporary academic studies, as most researchers in this field have come to accept because of the practical mechanisms they provide within the text, far from the relative interpretations often governed by the scholar's intellectual ideologies. In this research we offer a pragmatic approach to the Surah of Al-Insan, applying the pragmatic approach to the verses of this Surah to probe its spheres in a new way that differs from the quranic interpretative approach, while at the same time considering it as a reference for measuring the validity of our findings regarding the types of indirect speech acts in the Surah. The aim of this study is to confirm the possibility of applying modern curricula, in particular the pragmatic approach, to Arab texts in general and the quranic texts, including a scientific methodology that will enable the understanding of the deep meaning of the discourse.
