Abstract

This study presents rules of international peace in Islam and reviews the most important of these rules; based on the idea that peace is the origin of international relations. Examples of such rules are the rule of human cooperation, the preservation of human dignity, and the rejection of the policy of fait accompli. The study also explains the effects of these rules on international relations. The main findings in the study is that the Islamic system offers a comprehensive view represented in promoting human dignity and principles of truth, piety, righteousness and kindness in dealing with others including enemies, as force does not justify digesting the rights of others. It is permitted to make relationships with countries that do not hostile to Muslims, based on equality and respect of peoples’ privacy. Muslims did not enter a war except that they are forced to, for reasons imposed by logic in response to individual incidents.
