Training by objectives Translation model in language departments
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article highlights the didactical goals on which the teaching of foreign languages is based, and which comes across translation as a pedagogical practice and as a communication activity, as most language teaching programs, starting by the CEFR established by Council of Europe in 2001, use this subject to achieve many of these objectives. So what are the objectives that university programs for teaching foreign languages are based on? And does translation really help in achieving these goals? Through this study, we will try to answer to these questions, which importance derives from the need of teaching by objectives nowadays and defining what must be learned during the training for the success of the teaching program. Among the most prominent results of this research is how translation important in providing a clear model for acquiring language-related competencies and its role in developing curricula and guiding both of teaching and learning processes.
