Abstract

his study aims at assessing the degree to which the occidental daily newspapers have dealt with the image of
Muslim and his issues. The researcher analyzed the contents of the French newspaper le Monde and the American newspaper USA today relevant to the Muslim.
In regard to le Monde and Usa today daily press coverage of the Muslim the theme of the research as pointed
out in the title has raised a number of questions. First
what were the main issues that attracted the occidental
daily newspapers coverage toward the Muslim second
what was the stance of the occidental daily newspapers
towards the Muslim ،third how did the occidental daily
newspapers present the Muslim and fourth
the study concluded that.
1ـ the percentage of 24.2 was given to the coverage of
Muslim issues in the western newspapers.
2ـ The highest percentage 57.5 was given to the negative
trend of the coverage of western newspapers in the face
of Muslim issues.
3ـ The image of the Muslim reflected by the Images
shown in the western newspapers presented the Muslim;
in a negative way.
