Abstract

Crime generally constitutes a continuing threat to social peace, which
requires building effective strategies to fight it, starting with the establishment of
centers interested in training in the field of security media, and ending with the
strengthening of confidence among members of society, especially that the public
estimates of crime amounts and patterns in the society - according to numerous
studies - are attributed to the media more than to the realistic map of crime as it is
included in the police records and judicial files. Therefore, the journalist should
comply with the ethics of his profession to maintain security and stability within
the society.
