HUMAN KNOWLEDGE DILIGENCE VS PROPHETIC GUIDANCE

Abstract

This study investigates the controversial relationship that appeared in
ancient Islamic history and present day thought, which consists in determining
the role of thought and prophecy in the modelling of human knowledge. It
reveals that controverting or opposing them proves to be a major fallacy, either
for those who pretend that divine texts are sufficient to reach the truth.
As a matter of fact, this approach is trying to demonstrate that
complementary relationship that is asserted by prophecy and supported by

thought by considering each one’s field of action. While prophecy has a role of
guidance by explaining existential (supernatural) matters and what derives
from it as an approach, thought has a function of diligence in understanding
prophecy and the search in the visual world as a tool. The two of them, leading
to the truth, each in its field.
