The controversy according to Ibn Tamlous - an objective study

Abstract

This research deals with the Dialectic according to Ibn Tamlos which is one of Logic`s topics that the philosophers were interested in as well as the Theology scholars. Ibn Tamlos who is one of Ibn Rushd’s students, wrote his famous book titled « Introduction to the Art of Logic ». The reason of its fame is due to the introduction in which he explained why he chose the authorship in this field . He also presented the benefits of this science and the sources used in his study. Ibn Tamlos challenged the scholars of his era who were against the idea of learning Philosophy. Those scholars’ beliefs led to the idle of the intellectual sciences. He confronted this extremist current victoriously the Al Rushdi current, despite his silence towards this disciple. The article will tackle a chapter from his book because of the necessity of studying the Andalusian philosophical heritage, which suffered from neglect and deny, especially that the Arab and foreign libraries abound with Andalusian manuscripts that need to be studied.
