Abstract

This research paper aims to determine Algeria's potential exports towards sub-Saharan Africa, and to determine the advantages of Algeria's accession to the African Free Trade Area, so that Algeria's experience within the framework of the Arab Free Trade Area and the European Partnership will not be repeated. A combination of the descriptive analytical method and the quantitative method was used to analyze the various statistics, and to calculate the potential trade index for Algeria.we have concluded that intra-African trade is weak and distributed outside the continent because of a set of obstacles, such as the long period spent for clearance of exports, the high cost and the large number of documents required for import and export in sub-Saharan Africa, this is why it is necessary to call for  African Free Trade Area Agreement. So that  Algeria, as part of the region, will have sub-Saharan Africa as a future market for various products at significant amounts, such as consumables, intermediate materials, raw materials, foodstuffs, chemicals and fuels, in addition to other products. Therefore, all necessary measures and measures must be taken to make it successful.
