The Palestinian Presence in Western Media and its Role in Countering Zionist Narrative An Analytical Study on a Sample of Comments From Followers of The British Channels Channel 4 and Talk TV on Youtube

Abstract

Through this study, we attempted to understand the Palestinian presence in Western media and its role in countering the Zionist narrative of the conflict, especially after the October 7, 2023. Using a survey method and content analysis tool, we focused on aspects related to the content and objectives of the messages conveyed by Palestinian guests through their dialogues. We analyzed reactions through a set of categories studying comments on these dialogues on YouTube, totaling 140 comments. Our findings indicate that the humanitarian situation in Gaza was the forefront topic, and countering misinformation was the primary objective of the Palestinian figures' presence. As for the comments, most of them were supportive of the Palestinian position.
